Choir Master Profile


       Aris G. Madrid is the youngest Conductor/Musical Director of the Tarlac State University Choir. Under his baton, he has led the choir in winning top prizes in regional and national choir competition since 2007. Through his emerging knowledge in choral conducting he acquired through the Philippine Choral Directors Association, he was able to mold world-class performers of young and talented Tarlaquenos.


       He has led the Tarlac State University Choir in emerging as champions in several competitions. He achieved a grandslam championship for the choir in the history of DC-SUC Center for Inter-Institutional Research and Policy Study, a regional competition for the arts mandated by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges. The choir won 1ST Prize in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He also made a back to back championship title for the choir for the Aweng Paskua Choir Competition in Baguio City, Philippines in 2007 and 2008. He is also responsible for the choir’s first national title during the bi-annual National PASUC Choir Competition held at the Philippine Normal University in September 2008.


       On August 2009, he gave the best prize for the choir by winning Gold Diploma in the Folk category and Silver Diploma in the Musica Sacra category during the 1st CCP National Choir Competition (formerly 1st Philippine International Choir Competition.)


       He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in PE, Health and Music at the Tarlac State University, and was also an alumnus of the TSU Choir as a bass singer. Currently, he is taking up his post-graduate course at the Philippine Normal University in Manila taking up Masters of Education Major in Music. He is also handling the Tarlac City Water District Chorale since 2009.
